      Good afternoon villagers,

I’m very pleased to be joining David Burrows, Carl Hamilton & Roger Clarke on the NDP team.

So far, we’ve received 94 responses to the village survey. To ensure everyone has ample time to share their views, we’re extending the deadline to Saturday, 24 May. We strongly encourage all villagers to take part—it’s vital that your voice is heard in shaping the plans.

You can complete the survey online using the link below or fill out the paper copy that was delivered to your letterbox.

    • Gayton Neighbourhood Development Plan

      Village Neighbourhood Development Plan (NDP)
Meeting at 11.00 am, Saturday 26th April

You are invited to a Village Meeting at Gayton Village Hall at 11.00am on 26th April 2024.

There will be presentations by the Gayton NDP team, Roger Clarke, Carl Hamilton and David Burrows plus guest speakers Henry Spurrier and Ed Dixon from the Gayton Estate.
The Neighbourhood Plan belongs to us all and so it is particularly important that as many residents as possible inform us of their views on what it should contain. So, with that in mind, we have produced a questionnaire, and the main purpose of the meeting is to explain how to fill it in. However, we will also be able to answer some of your questions about the process and the potential benefit to the village over the next decade. And remember, even if you come up with an idea that falls outside the scope of the NDP, we still want to hear as it may be something that the community can achieve by working together, as was the case with the extra defibrillators funded by the gum-ball
      rally.
The agenda for the meeting is:

      • Welcome and introductions – Carl Hamilton
      • Introduction to Neighbourhood Plan – Roger Clarke
      • The Gayton Estate – Henry Spurrier and Ed Dixon (guest speakers)
      • Questionnaire run through – David Burrows
      • Question and Answer session
      • Close of Meeting and thanks – Carl Hamilton

So, please bring along your thoughts on the future of Gayton and see if they correspond with some of our suggestions and we look forward to seeing you on the 26th.
      Kind Regards,
      NDP Team

    • Gayton Millennium Spinney – 4 April 2025

Glenyss & myself have been busy in the Spinney again, this time planting some Common Dog Violets and Wood Sorrel along the back hedge, you may notice the little clearings to help give the plants a chance to get established.

The Primroses are looking good, as are the Lesser Celandine and a few daffodils, and the Hibernaculum has ‘greened-up’nicely.

Colin & I also planted some Winter Aconites recently between the Hibernaculum towards the sign, protected by some little wigwams.

On a lovely spring day the Gayton Millennium Spinney is a lovely place for a walk or just sit on one of the benches and simply enjoy the sunshine.
